KCB Victory Boosts Murang’a Seal Ahead of Leopards Clash

Murang’a Seal’s Home Victory Boosts Confidence Ahead of Crucial Match

Murang’a Seal’s head coach, Osborne Monday, is optimistic about his team’s prospects after their 2-1 victory over KCB. The win at St Sebastian Park has not only marked their first home triumph of the season but also reignited a sense of belief within the squad. This success is seen as a crucial step forward as they prepare for their upcoming SportPesa League match against Kakamega Homeboyz on Sunday.

The match was a testament to the team’s growing cohesion and determination. Paul Osama opened the scoring, breaking the deadlock in the early stages, while Joe Waithira sealed the win in the 88th minute, ensuring a memorable day for the fans and players alike.

“This is our first win at home and it has given us a lot of confidence,” said Monday. “We are still building, but the good thing is that the team has started to click. We are moving the ball better, attacking with purpose and becoming more clinical in front of goal.”

Monday praised the fighting spirit of his players, emphasizing that this victory could be the turning point for their season. He specifically highlighted the performance of winger Victor Haki, who played a pivotal role in the match.

“There was a lot of good movement from Haki — in fact, he was fantastic for us,” Monday said.

Facing a Strong Opponent

Seal’s next challenge is against Kakamega Homeboyz, who are currently sitting at the top of the standings with 14 points from seven games. Homeboyz have been in impressive form, securing four wins against Sofapaka (1-0), Bidco (3-1), Ulinzi Stars (3-1), and APS Bomet (2-1). They also drew 1-1 against Tusker in their most recent encounter.

This match presents a daunting task for Seal, who will need to maintain their momentum and focus if they are to secure another victory.

Personal Goals and Team Resurgence

Seal forward Paul Osama, who scored the opening goal in the win over KCB, is looking to build on this success. His personal target is to score 15 goals and provide 10 assists this season.

“It feels great to finally get on the scoresheet because I have been working hard in training and that hard work has finally paid off. I need to stay sharp, keep improving and help the team climb up the table,” he said.

Osama also expressed his gratitude to the loyal supporters of Murang’a Seal.

“The support from our fans has been immense, even though we had some struggles in our opening games. Their support has been consistent and that has propelled us to a home victory,” he added.

A Season of Ups and Downs

Seal’s campaign has been a mix of highs and lows. The season began with an inconsistent start, including a 1-0 loss to Ulinzi Stars, a 2-0 win over APS Bomet, and three consecutive defeats to Bandari, Sofapaka, and Tusker. However, a 2-2 draw against Posta Rangers showed signs of improvement.

With the momentum from their recent win, the team is hopeful that this result can serve as a catalyst for a stronger second half of the season. As they prepare for the challenging match against Kakamega Homeboyz, the focus will be on maintaining their current form and continuing to build on the progress made so far.
