AL seeking to disrupt election, incite arson: Shafiqul Alam

Awami League Accused of Election Sabotage

On November 11, the Press Secretary of the Chief Adviser, Shafiqul Alam, accused the Awami League of attempting to disrupt the upcoming national election. According to him, the party is carrying out arson attacks across the country. He emphasized that these actions are aimed at hindering the electoral process.

“The fascist AL is indulged in arson attacks across the country, aiming to thwart the election but the national parliamentary election will be held in the first half of February and no domestic or foreign force will be able to foil it,” he said during a press briefing.

Shafiqul Alam made these remarks while addressing reporters after laying the foundation stone for a newly-constructed building at Kuliara High School in Chouddagram upazila, located in the Cumilla district. His comments came amid growing concerns over the stability of the political environment as the nation approaches the crucial election period.

Focus on Good Governance and Reforms

In addition to addressing the alleged activities of the Awami League, Shafiqul Alam highlighted the importance of good governance and reforms. He noted that these processes require time and effort, and the government is committed to ensuring transparency and efficiency in all administrative functions.

“Good governance and reforms take time,” he stated. “We are working towards creating a more accountable and effective system that serves the interests of the people.”

Despite the challenges, Shafiqul Alam expressed confidence in the ability of the government to maintain order and ensure a smooth electoral process. He also pointed out that differences among political parties are natural, but all parties are preparing for the election.

“Despite differences, all parties want a festive and participatory election,” he added. “The focus is on ensuring that the election is free, fair, and inclusive.”

Political Parties Preparing for the Election

According to Shafiqul Alam, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has already announced its candidates for 237 constituencies. Meanwhile, Jamaat-e-Islami is also in the process of selecting its candidates for the upcoming elections.

This indicates that the political landscape is becoming more defined as the election date approaches. The involvement of various parties highlights the competitive nature of the electoral process and the significance of public participation.

Presence of Key Officials

During the event, the Deputy Press Secretary of the Chief Adviser, Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, was also present. His attendance underscored the importance of the occasion and the government’s commitment to engaging with local communities.

The foundation stone-laying ceremony at Kuliara High School not only marked a significant development in the educational infrastructure of the region but also served as a platform for the government to communicate its vision and policies to the public.

Conclusion

As the nation moves closer to the election, the statements from the Chief Adviser’s office reflect a determination to uphold democratic values and ensure a peaceful transition of power. The allegations against the Awami League highlight the challenges that lie ahead, but the government remains focused on its goals of promoting good governance and fostering a stable political environment.

With the involvement of multiple political parties and the ongoing efforts to prepare for the election, the coming months will be critical in shaping the future of the country. The outcome of the election will determine the direction of governance and the implementation of policies that will impact the lives of millions.
