NBC supports women entrepreneurs with grants at 2025 WIMBIZ Conference

Nigerian Bottling Company Reinforces Commitment to Women’s Empowerment Through WIMBIZ Partnership

The Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) Ltd., a subsidiary of the Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (CCHBC) Group, has once again demonstrated its dedication to advancing women’s leadership and economic empowerment. This commitment was highlighted through its collaboration with the Women in Management, Business, and Public Service (WIMBIZ) during the organization’s 24th Annual Conference.

The two-day event, held on 6–7 November 2025 at Eko Hotels and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos, was themed “Own. Walk. Nurture.” It brought together female leaders from diverse sectors to exchange insights on leadership, personal growth, and their impact on society. The conference served as a platform for women to share experiences and strategies that foster professional and personal development.

During a panel discussion titled “Leading from the Inside Out: Balancing Ambition, Vulnerability & Purpose,” Oluwasoromidayo George, NBC’s Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, joined other prominent female leaders in exploring how authenticity, resilience, and emotional intelligence contribute to effective leadership. George emphasized the importance of intentionality, strategy, and authenticity in navigating one’s career path.

“Modern workplaces must create supportive environments that allow people to grow both personally and professionally,” she stated. “Vulnerability is not weakness; it is confidence and openness that build trust and connection.”

She encouraged women to be authentic, stay true to their values, and consistently present their best selves. “Be kind to yourself and to others,” she added, reinforcing the message that self-care and empathy are essential components of leadership.

Granting Support to Women Entrepreneurs

In further demonstration of its long-standing commitment to women’s economic empowerment, NBC presented the WIMBIZ Entrepreneurship Masterclass ₦1 million grant to two exceptional women entrepreneurs. Toyibah Shehu Mohammed of FarhM’s Food and Sauce Global Limited and Helen Gabriel of Ogy’s Cakes were recognized for their innovation, creativity, and potential to drive significant economic impact.

Jolomi Fawehinmi, NBC’s People & Culture Director, who presented the grant, described women-led enterprises as vital drivers of community growth and national development. “At NBC, we believe women entrepreneurs are catalysts for inclusive growth. Their success strengthens families, uplifts communities, and fuels the broader economy,” she said.

Fawehinmi also praised the participants of the Masterclass, highlighting their dedication to achieving excellence and making a meaningful impact. “Every participant in the Masterclass has demonstrated commitment to growth, excellence, and impact,” she noted.

A Broader Vision for Women’s Leadership

The partnership between NBC and WIMBIZ reflects a shared vision of empowering women to take on leadership roles and contribute meaningfully to their communities and industries. By supporting initiatives that promote education, mentorship, and financial inclusion, NBC continues to play a pivotal role in shaping a more equitable and prosperous future for women in Nigeria.

Through events like the WIMBIZ Annual Conference, the company not only amplifies the voices of women leaders but also invests in their growth and development. This approach aligns with global efforts to address gender disparities and create opportunities for women across all levels of society.

As the conversation around women’s leadership continues to evolve, organizations like NBC and WIMBIZ serve as beacons of progress, demonstrating that when women are empowered, entire communities benefit.
