Recognition of Leadership and African Solidarity
The President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, His Excellency Umarou Sissoco Embaló, has honored Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, with the Gold Medal of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau. This prestigious award is the country’s highest national distinction, symbolizing exceptional contributions to peace, progress, and unity.
In a statement released by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, it was revealed that the medal was presented by the Honourable Minister of Defence of Guinea-Bissau, Mr. Donisio Cabi, on behalf of President Embaló. The ceremony took place at Government House in Kano, marking a significant moment in the relationship between the two regions.
During the 33rd Executive Council meeting held at Government House, Kano, Governor Yusuf expressed his gratitude to President Embaló and the people of Guinea-Bissau for the honor. He emphasized the importance of educational cooperation and African solidarity as key tools for achieving peace and shared prosperity.
According to the statement, the recognition highlights Governor Yusuf’s exemplary leadership and dedication to promoting African unity through education and human capital development. Mr. Cabi praised the Governor’s initiative of offering fifty scholarship slots to young students from Guinea-Bissau.
