APGA Candidate Maintains Strong Lead in Anambra State Governorship Election
Chukwuma Soludo, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), continues to show strong performance in the Anambra State governorship election. As of now, he has secured a commanding lead in 19 out of the 21 local government areas (LGAs) that have been declared so far.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) began collating results at its headquarters in Awka, the capital of Anambra State, after the counting process was completed in most polling units across the state. The results from the 19 LGAs indicate that APGA received a total of 389,789 votes, followed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) with 91,592 votes, the Labour Party (LP) with 10,366 votes, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with 1,230 votes.
With only two LGAs remaining to be announced, Soludo’s lead remains substantial, and it is widely expected that he will secure a second term as governor of Anambra State.
The collation exercise, which is being overseen by the State Returning Officer at INEC’s headquarters in Awka, is expected to continue until all 21 LGAs have been officially declared.
