Increased Transportation and Safety Measures for 2026 CSAT
The 2026 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) is scheduled to take place on the 13th, with significant efforts being made by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to ensure that students can reach their test sites efficiently. One of the key measures involves increasing subway operations to accommodate the large number of examinees.
According to the city’s announcement on the 10th, a comprehensive traffic plan has been put in place to support the 114,158 students who will be taking the exam at 228 different test sites across Seoul. This includes an increase in subway services, with 29 additional trips added between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. to help students arrive on time.
In addition to the subway adjustments, city buses and village buses will maintain minimum dispatch intervals during peak hours. These intervals are set between 6:00 a.m. to 8:10 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., aligning with the times when students are expected to enter and exit the test sites.
Support Vehicles for Examinees
To further assist students, 646 emergency standby vehicles marked with “Examinee Transportation Support” signs will be deployed near subway stations and bus stops adjacent to test sites. These vehicles can be used by students who may need assistance getting to their designated locations.
A representative from the Seoul Metropolitan Government emphasized that the goal is to provide free transportation to test sites for students who might be at risk of arriving late. This initiative aims to reduce stress and ensure that all students have equal access to the exam.
For disabled examinees, those registered with the Seoul Disabled Call Taxi can make advance reservations for transportation through the customer center. Even if they do not have prior reservations, priority dispatch will still be available on the day of the exam.
Additional Measures to Ensure Focus
Beyond transportation, the city has also taken steps to create a more conducive environment for students. Construction projects near test sites that generate noise will be temporarily halted to help students concentrate. Additionally, transportation associations have been requested to prevent buses and taxis from honking or making sudden braking maneuvers.
Enforcement of parking regulations will be intensified within a 2-kilometer radius of test sites. Vehicle entry and exit will be restricted within 200 meters of these sites, except for public transportation. Parking will also be prohibited in these areas to minimize disruptions.
Community Cooperation
Yeo Jang-kwon, the Seoul Metropolitan Government Traffic Director, highlighted the importance of community cooperation in ensuring the success of the CSAT. He stated, “We will support traffic convenience to help students focus on the exam. We kindly ask citizens for their active cooperation.”
