Drug Arrests in Kailali Highlight Ongoing Crackdown

Kailali, Nov. 9 – A series of arrests were made in Kailali over the weekend as law enforcement agencies conducted a joint operation targeting drug possession. The operations involved collaboration between the District Police Office Kailali and local police stations, resulting in the detention of eight individuals suspected of carrying narcotics.

In Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-13, police arrested three individuals for possessing drugs. Among them was 23-year-old Pravind Rana, 24-year-old Ghuman Rana, and an 18-year-old minor from Jhalari. During the operation, authorities recovered 1.08 grams of brown heroin. The arrests were carried out by a joint team from the Narcotics Control Bureau office in Dhangadhi and the Kailaligau Police Post.

Another set of arrests occurred in Lamkichuha Municipality-1. Twenty-four-year-olds Dinesh Budha and Lalit Ranachhetri were detained, with 420 milligrams of brown heroin seized from their possession. This operation was led by a team from the same Narcotics Control Bureau office.

On the same day, 24-year-old Jagadish Saud of Janaki Rural Municipality-3 was arrested near Pioneers Boarding School in Lamkichuha. He was found in possession of 130 milligrams of brown heroin. This arrest further emphasized the ongoing efforts to combat drug-related activities in the region.

In addition, 25-year-old David Kathariya and 31-year-old Narendra Chaudhary from Ghodaghodi Municipality-12 were taken into custody after being found with 540 milligrams of brown heroin. The operation leading to their arrest was conducted by a team from the Bhajani Police Office in Bhajani Municipality-9.
