Strong Performance in the Third Quarter
Advanced Info Service (AIS) and True Corporation have both reported positive financial results for the third quarter of this year. This reflects a continued trend of growth and stability in their respective operations.
AIS’s Financial Results
AIS announced its operating results for the third quarter of 2025, with total revenue reaching 54.3 billion baht. The company achieved a net profit of more than 12 billion baht, which marks a 37% increase compared to the same period last year and a 9.6% rise from the previous quarter. This performance highlights steady growth across all business segments, including mobile, broadband, and enterprise services.
The company attributes this success to its strategy of developing high-quality connectivity networks, introducing innovative services, and maintaining efficient operational processes. These efforts aim to deliver sustainable value to customers and stakeholders.
Mobile Business Expansion
AIS’s mobile business has seen continued expansion, with a total of 46.3 million subscribers at the end of the third quarter. Its 5G user base grew to 15.8 million, representing a 36% year-on-year increase. This growth is a result of the company’s quality-driven investment strategy, which has expanded its intelligent 5G network to cover over 95% of Thailand’s population.
In addition, AIS launched services on the 2100MHz spectrum immediately after winning the auction for it. The company also deployed its “Super Block” technology, marking a significant step in its strategy to enhance network capacity and deliver up to twice the speed.
Broadband and Enterprise Growth
Under the AIS 3BB FIBRE3 brand, AIS added 68,000 new broadband subscribers, bringing the total number of broadband users to 5.2 million as of the end of the third quarter. The enterprise business also saw a 14% growth, supported by accelerated digital transformation in both the public and private sectors.
True Corporation’s Profitability
True Corporation reported a net profit after tax of 1.6 billion baht for the third quarter, marking its third consecutive quarter of profitability. According to KGI Securities (Thailand), this net profit represented a 23% decline from the previous quarter but marked a turnaround from a net loss of 810 million baht during the same period last year.
This result missed expectations due to higher-than-expected network write-downs, according to the brokerage house. True noted that top-line momentum remained soft due to macroeconomic headwinds. However, profitability was boosted by cost savings related to spectrum acquisition.
Excluding one-off items, the company posted a normalized profit of 4.6 billion baht for the period.
Interim Dividend
For the first nine months of this year, the company announced an interim dividend of 6.6 billion baht, representing a 125% payout ratio. Sigve Brekke, group chief executive of True, highlighted that the company closed this quarter with sustained profitability, marked by its first-time dividend payout.
Subscriber Challenges
However, True’s subscribers have been affected by the declining macroeconomic situation and lower tourist inflows into Thailand. As a result, its total number of mobile subscribers declined by 2.4 million, or 4.8% year-on-year, to 46.9 million.
At the end of the third quarter, its 5G subscribers reached 15.5 million.
