Singer Hyun-ah has publicly apologized for fainting during a recent performance. On the 10th, she shared her thoughts on her social media account, stating, “I’m so, so, so, so sorry. It was a short period of time after the performance, but I wanted to show you a good performance. However, I don’t think I was professional and I couldn’t remember anything. I kept thinking about this and that, and I wanted to tell you.”
She continued, “It must have been a stage where everyone paid to watch, but I’m sorry, and I’m really sorry. From now on, I will work harder and continue to work hard. It would be great if everything went my way, but I’ll try. Today, I want to say thank you for adoring, caring, and loving me since I was very young. And I’m really okay? Don’t worry about me! Good night to you all.”
Hyun-ah lost consciousness while performing her hit song “Bubble Pop” at the Macau Outdoor Performance Venue in Hong Kong and Macau on the 9th.
Although the exact cause of her fainting was not disclosed, many believe it may be related to the side effects of an extreme diet. Hyun-ah had announced her diet on the 3rd of last month and successfully lost 10kg in a month. She mentioned, “It’s hard to change the first digit at the end of ’50.’ You still have a long way to go.” She also revealed a photo of a scale showing 49kg, asking, “How much have you eaten so far, Kim Hyun-ah?”
However, Hyun-ah has a history of health issues, including vagus nerve fainting. In the past, she confessed on a web entertainment show, “If your weight falls below 45kg, your physical strength will drop and you will collapse.” In fact, in 2020, the release schedule of new songs was postponed due to nervousness-related issues in the Americas.
Given these circumstances, many fans believe this incident was a result of the negative effects of extreme dieting. They expressed their concern by saying, “It’s good to see you gain weight,” and “Health is the most important.”
