NUST EME Confers 560 Degrees in Convocation Ceremony

The National University of Science and Technology (NUST) College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (EME) recently held a convocation ceremony where 560 students were awarded degrees for successfully completing various academic programs. The event took place in Rawalpindi, with Maj Gen Atique Ahmed, HI (M), Director General Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (DG EME), serving as the chief guest.

A significant number of faculty members, students, and their families attended the ceremony, which was widely covered by local media. During the event, more than 560 undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students received their degrees. The graduates came from diverse disciplines including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Engineering Management, and Applied Mathematics.

In his address, the chief guest extended his congratulations to the graduating students and praised the EME for maintaining high standards in both teaching and research. He also commended the college for its strong emphasis on research and development at all academic levels. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of the college’s engineering programs being accredited under the Washington Accord, a globally recognized standard for engineering education.

The chief guest provided some valuable advice to the graduates, urging them to apply their skills in real-world scenarios. He expressed confidence that the students would use the knowledge and expertise they gained during their studies to contribute positively to society, particularly to the underprivileged and marginalized sections of the population.

In addition to the degree conferrals, several awards were presented to outstanding students. President’s Gold Medals were given to top performers, recognizing their exceptional academic achievements. Other honors were also bestowed upon dedicated faculty members and staff who played a crucial role in supporting the students’ success.

The convocation ceremony not only marked a significant milestone in the academic journey of the graduates but also served as a platform to celebrate the continued excellence of the EME. It reinforced the institution’s commitment to producing skilled professionals who can make meaningful contributions to their respective fields and society at large.
