Tragic Accident Claims Two Lives in Lamjung
Lamjung, Nov. 8 – A tragic accident occurred on Friday night when a jeep belonging to the under-construction 6.82-megawatt Hidi Khola Hydropower Project met with a fatal incident at Chyamche Khet along the Naiche-Dahare road section in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-6, Lamjung. The incident resulted in the deaths of two individuals.
Inspector Gynendra Bahadur Chhetri, information officer at the District Police Office, Lamjung, reported that the accident took place around 11:30 pm. The jeep, which was carrying cement from Khudi, skidded off the road and fell approximately 800 meters down a cliff.
The police identified the deceased as driver Binod Khadka, 30, from Melung Rural Municipality-4 in Dolakha, and passenger Paras Khadka, 25, also from the same locality. Both sustained critical injuries and were declared dead by doctors at Lamjung Provincial Hospital in Besisahar around 4:30 am on Saturday.
A third passenger, Umesh Limbu, 20, from Sidingwa Rural Municipality-4 in Taplejung, survived the accident. According to the police, he had stepped out of the vehicle moments before the incident to place a wedge under the tyres.

Following the incident, teams from the Khudi and Bahundanda police posts were deployed for rescue operations. The local authorities worked tirelessly to recover the bodies and ensure the safety of the area.
