Major Arrests in Hyderabad and Karachi Highlight Ongoing Security Challenges
In a significant intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted in Hyderabad, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) successfully arrested an individual linked to a banned militant group. The suspect, identified as Parkash, was found in possession of critical evidence related to terrorist financing and was reportedly involved with the Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army (SRA), an organization that has been designated as unlawful.
During the operation, law enforcement officers discovered several items that pointed to the suspect’s involvement in subversive activities. These included receipts associated with terrorist funding, an SRA membership card, an Indian flag, a hand grenade, and other illegal weapons. The CTD spokesperson confirmed that these findings were crucial in building a case against Parkash.
Parkash was taken into custody from Anwar Villas Road in Hyderabad. According to the spokesperson, multiple cases have already been registered against him at the CTD Hyderabad police station. During the operation, two accomplices of the arrested suspect managed to escape, but authorities are conducting raids to locate and apprehend them.
The arrest comes amid ongoing efforts by security agencies to combat terrorism and organized crime. The CTD has emphasized the importance of intelligence-driven operations in identifying and neutralizing threats before they can escalate.
A Separate Operation in Karachi Unearths a Violent Gang
In a separate law enforcement action in Karachi, a gang responsible for a series of violent home robberies was dismantled. The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the CIA carried out a major raid in the Bin Qasim area and arrested two suspects named Dost Sahito and Shoaib Ahmed.
SSP Amjad Sheikh, who spoke about the operation, revealed that the arrested men were also involved in illegal land grabbing. Investigations indicated that a well-known builder had allegedly supported their activities, further complicating the case.
The suspects were wanted in connection with multiple cases of house robbery, murder, and theft. During the raid, the police recovered two pistols and several rounds of ammunition from the suspects’ possession.
According to investigators, on September 22, the duo committed a house robbery in the Gulshan-e-Falaknaz area. During the incident, a 67-year-old man named Javed was killed after being assaulted by the robbers. The perpetrators fled the scene with gold jewellery, 400,000 rupees in cash, and other valuables.
A case has been registered against the suspects at the SIU police station, and further investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of their criminal activities.
Ongoing Efforts to Combat Crime and Terrorism
These recent arrests highlight the continued efforts by law enforcement agencies to address both terrorism and organized crime. In Hyderabad, the CTD’s operation targeted a known militant group, while in Karachi, the SIU tackled a gang involved in violent crimes.
Both operations demonstrate the importance of intelligence gathering and coordinated actions between different law enforcement bodies. The recovery of weapons, financial records, and other incriminating evidence underscores the seriousness of the threats being addressed.
As investigations continue, authorities remain vigilant in their pursuit of justice and the prevention of further criminal activity. The cooperation between local and federal agencies is essential in ensuring that those who threaten public safety are brought to account.
