Police VC Secures Victory Over Rwanda Energy Group in Thrilling Volleyball Match

In a thrilling encounter during the fourth round of the national volleyball league, Police VC emerged victorious against Rwanda Energy Group (REG) with a score of 23-25, 25-18, 25-21, and 25-21. The match took place at the newly inaugurated Ste Famille Gymnasium, which will serve as REG’s home venue for the season.

REG had high hopes of securing a win on the occasion of the gymnasium’s inauguration. They started strong, taking the first set with a score of 25-23. This early lead put Police VC in a challenging position, especially after their previous defeat to Gisagara VC in the last round. However, the team showed resilience and determination, making a remarkable comeback.

Elphas Makuto, the receiving attacker for Police VC, played a pivotal role in turning the tide of the match. His strategic plays helped his team regain control and win the second set with a score of 25-18. As the game progressed, the momentum shifted again when Fred Musoni introduced young player Patrick Ishimwe into the lineup. This move proved to be crucial, as Police VC secured the third and fourth sets with scores of 25-21 each.

Musoni shared his thoughts on the match, stating, “Every game is a surprise. They secured the first set, which put pressure on us, but I told my team it’s still possible, and that’s why we pushed through. Ishimwe gave his best effort; I saw great potential in him, and he’s making good progress.”

Earlier in the evening, APR WVC continued their winning streak by defeating East Africa University Rwanda (EAUR) in three sets with scores of 25-14, 25-21, and 25-20. The action at the Ste Famille Gymnasium is set to continue on Saturday, November 8, with several exciting matches scheduled:
