Transformative Healthcare: Egbin Power’s Annual Medical Outreach

Egbin Power, a leading power generation company in Nigeria, continues to make a significant impact through its annual medical outreach programme. This initiative, part of the company’s Personal Corporate Social Responsibility (PCSR) efforts, has been hailed by beneficiaries as a life-changing health intervention that brings hope and healing to communities.

The 2025 edition of the programme marked the eighth year of this impactful outreach, delivering essential healthcare services to residents in the communities of Egbin, Ipakan, and Ijede. The event saw an overwhelming turnout, with many people eager to participate and express their gratitude for the support they received.

Felix Ofulue, Head of Corporate Communications & Branding at Egbin Power, highlighted the importance of the initiative in bridging the gap between quality healthcare and the local population. He stated:

Community leaders and stakeholders have consistently praised the GenCo for its commitment to improving public health. High Chief Aliu Musediq, the Regent of Ijede, commended the company’s dedication to the health and well-being of the community. He said:

“This outreach demonstrates the company’s dedication to improving our health and lives. The large turnout reflects our people’s need for quality healthcare, and we are grateful for this opportunity to receive free medical services.”

High Chief Mustapha Lasisi, the Baale of Ipakan, also expressed appreciation for the long-term benefits of such initiatives. He noted:

“Over the years, Egbin Power has been providing succour to our communities. Their efforts remind us of the importance of health; without it, we cannot thrive. We urge them to continue supporting us in addressing health challenges in the communities.”

Many residents shared personal stories of how the outreach has positively impacted their lives. Mrs. Abosede Nofiu, a retired civil servant, said:

“Egbin Power has shown us that they care. The medical care provided has greatly benefited me and many others in our community. We feel healthier and more informed about our health.”

The programme was organised in collaboration with Ceccy Health and offered a wide range of medical services, including eye care, diabetes management, malaria treatment, dental check-ups, arthritis care, and blood pressure monitoring. Beneficiaries received free high-quality medications, medicated glasses, glucometers, blood pressure monitoring machines, and wellness kits after thorough medical examinations.

Mrs. Ife Honfo, a local hairdresser, shared her positive experience:

“The doctors took their time to examine me and explained everything thoroughly. They also provided medications free of charge. I feel empowered to take better care of my health and now understand how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.”

Beyond receiving medical treatment, many beneficiaries gained valuable knowledge about their health. Smiles and expressions of gratitude filled the air as residents returned home, hopeful for a healthier future.
