Kimberley’s Youth Shines on the Runway

A Night of Glamour and Empowerment in Kimberley

The city of Kimberley dazzled under the spotlight this past weekend as it hosted the 2nd Annual Miss Pink Diamond event. This vibrant celebration brought together fashion, empowerment, and community upliftment, making it a memorable occasion for all involved.

Founded by Mishka Boughan, a talented young ambassador from Kimberley, the event has grown into a beacon of hope and inspiration for young girls across the region. Mishka made headlines last year when she was crowned Miss Preteen Model World in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Returning home to crown her successor, she was honored with the title Face of Orlando Fashion Kids 2026, further solidifying her status as a rising star in the global fashion scene. Despite her growing fame, Mishka remains deeply connected to Kimberley, and the Miss Pink Diamond initiative reflects her passion for giving back to her community.

“This is not just a beauty pageant,” said the organizers. “It’s a fashion summit built on empowerment, creativity, and collaboration.”

Workshops and Creativity Unleashed

In the lead-up to the grand finale, participants engaged in a series of workshops aimed at boosting confidence and inspiring leadership among young women. These sessions provided valuable insights and skills that would be showcased during the main event.

The main event itself was a vibrant display of Kimberley’s flair for style and culture. Local businesses, designers, and artists played a crucial role in bringing the vision to life. Some of the key contributors included:

  • Steenkamp Diamonds – Diamond sponsor
  • Party & More Antonella – Event décor
  • TC Branding – Advertising and branding
  • Natasha Couture Designer – Fashion design
  • Zoomink – Printing services
  • Chaunice Abbatt – Catering
  • Regiment Hall – Venue
  • Xtreme Sound Productions, Adriaan, and DJ Teekay – Entertainment

Local artists such as Mia Boughan and Ryan Abrahams, along with models from across South Africa, added to the excitement of the evening.

Support from Sponsors and Stakeholders

The event received generous support from various sponsors and stakeholders, including Flamingo Casino, Video Excellence, City Radio, Deputy Speaker Sharifa Ferris, the Office of the Premier, Nedbank, Antonella, Benjamin, CC Riders, Neville Barnes, and Merissa Meyers. Their contributions were instrumental in making the event a success.

During the event, participants modeled, walked their walk, and talked their talk. However, only one could be crowned the overall winner. This year, Melicia Beukes from Postmasburg was selected as the winner. She didn’t leave empty-handed; instead, she walked away with a 0.622 round brilliant diamond set in a special pendant, a prize worthy of her efforts.

A Message of Unity and Pride

Rene Boughan, owner of the Miss Pink Diamond Organising Committee, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to the event’s success. “Miss Pink Diamond is more than a celebration of beauty and fashion; it’s a platform for growth, unity, and pride in our local talent. We are incredibly proud of Mishka’s achievements and her ongoing commitment to uplifting Kimberley,” he said.

As the lights dimmed at Regiment Hall, one message shone brightly: Kimberley’s young dreamers are the city’s true diamonds, and Miss Pink Diamond continues to polish their brilliance for the world to see.
