Introduction to the Student Parliament of Seevali Central College
On November 6, Sri Lanka witnessed a significant event as the inaugural session of the Student Parliament of Seevali Central College in Ratnapura was held at the Old Parliament Chamber of the Presidential Secretariat. This event marked an important milestone in the Vision programme series, which is designed to engage and educate schoolchildren through collaborative efforts between the Presidential Secretariat, the Education Ministry, and the Communication Department of Parliament.
Key Activities During the Programme
The programme focused on several essential topics that are crucial for the development of young leaders. Students were educated on future leadership, the history of parliamentary traditions, the role of Parliament, and the current functions of the President’s Fund. These discussions aimed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the political landscape and their potential roles within it.

Valuable plants were presented to the school, symbolizing the importance of preserving nature and fostering a sense of environmental responsibility among students. Furthermore, the Vision magazine was handed over to the school, providing students with access to informative content about the Vision programme and its objectives.
This initiative was conducted with the participation of Deputy Speaker Dr. Rizvie Salih, who emphasized the significance of such educational outreach programs in shaping the minds of the younger generation.
