Rack Centre Boosts Lagos Hub with Cloud Expansion

Expansion of EdgeNext in Nigeria

Rack Centre, a leading Tier III carrier- and cloud-neutral data centre in West Africa, has announced the launch of EdgeNext’s Content Delivery Network (CDN) and cloud hosting services in Nigeria. These services are hosted at Rack Centre’s advanced facility in Lagos, marking a significant step in the region’s digital infrastructure development.

Nigeria, with a population exceeding 200 million people and one of Africa’s youngest demographics, is experiencing rapid growth in its digital economy. The increasing demand for internet services, mobile applications, gaming, e-commerce, and social media platforms has highlighted the need for high-performance infrastructure that can deliver reliable and scalable digital experiences.

EdgeNext’s expansion into Nigeria aims to address this growing demand by enhancing content delivery and cloud hosting efficiency. This initiative empowers businesses to scale more effectively across the region, offering improved performance and accessibility.

Key Features of EdgeNext Services

EdgeNext’s global acceleration network provides lower-latency digital experiences for video, social media, and e-commerce platforms. Its flexible cloud hosting resources enable small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and developers to deploy services quickly, reduce IT costs, and accelerate their digital transformation processes.

In addition, recognizing the thriving gaming community in Nigeria, EdgeNext is developing cloud-based gaming solutions that deliver low-latency and high-concurrency capabilities for mobile, PC, and cloud gaming. This development is expected to enhance the gaming experience for users and support the growth of the local gaming industry.
