Jetstar to Reintroduce Flights from Avalon Airport to Bali
After a long hiatus, international flights from Avalon Airport in Victoria are set to return with Jetstar’s relaunch of services to Bali. This marks the first time since 2020 that an international flight has taken off from this airport, signaling a significant milestone for travelers and the local economy.
The new route will officially begin on March 23, 2026, offering direct flights to Bali. These flights will be operated using Jetstar’s A321neo LR fleet, with the service running five times a week. The airline is also planning to resume domestic flights from Avalon to Adelaide on March 26, with additional services to Brisbane.
Passengers traveling to Adelaide can expect seven weekly return flights, while flights to Brisbane will increase to five times per week. In total, the airline is offering up to 320,000 low-fare seats annually, with 120,000 of these dedicated to travelers heading to Bali.
Stephanie Tully, CEO of Jetstar, described the resumption of services to Bali as a “massive step” forward for the airline at Avalon Airport. She emphasized the importance of this move in reconnecting passengers with their favorite destinations.

To support the increased traffic, Avalon Airport is undergoing several upgrades. These include adding 1,000 new seats across the terminals and providing an extra 500 car parking spaces. The airport will also be equipped with enhanced security systems, improved runway lighting, and new water connections to the control tower.
These improvements are expected to create over 80 new jobs and significantly boost Geelong’s economy by increasing visitor numbers. The Victorian Government has also announced a new public transport connection, with Route 18 buses linking Lara Station to Avalon Airport. This service will operate seven days a week, making it easier for workers and tourists to access the airport.
As part of the launch, Jetstar is offering a limited-time sale for travelers departing from Avalon to Bali, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney, and the Gold Coast. The 48-hour sale ends midday on Wednesday, allowing passengers to book domestic flights from $29 and international fares to Bali starting at $199.
This development has sparked interest among Australian travelers, who are eager to explore new destinations at affordable prices. With such competitive rates, it’s no wonder many are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.
