A Journey of Hope and Generosity
Eric Omondi has once again captured the hearts of many with his ongoing efforts to build a better future for Mama Simon, an ailing woman from Githurai. His initiative, Team Sisi Kwa Sisi, has been instrumental in transforming her life through the construction of a three-storey apartment complex.

The project has made significant progress, with the ground floor already completed and serving as the family’s new home. The third storey is now under construction, marking a major milestone in this heartfelt endeavor. Eric has also encouraged Kenyans to continue supporting the cause, as there are still eight rental units left to be built.
The Story Behind the Support
Mama Simon, whose real name is Millicent Maina, has been a symbol of resilience despite her challenges. Her story was first brought to light by YouTuber Dorea Chege and her husband, DJ Dibul, who shared her struggles online. They revealed how she had been bedridden for months, cared for only by her two young sons, who even changed her diapers in their modest home.
This heart-wrenching situation deeply moved Eric, prompting him to take action. Through his initiative, he rallied well-wishers to raise funds that would help improve the family’s living conditions.
The Financial Update
In a recent financial update, Eric mentioned that over KSh 6.5 million had been raised towards a target of KSh 15 million. This money is intended to cover various needs, including:
- Mama Simon’s medical care
- Education for the children
- Purchase of land
- Construction of a new home and business to sustain the family
The Completion of the Home
After months of dedicated work, Eric proudly announced that the family’s new home, part of the three-storey apartment complex in Kamakis, is now complete. However, the remaining eight rental units are still under construction. Additionally, a shop for the family is being built at the entrance of the property.
Mama Simon recently visited her new home, arriving in an ambulance and being carried inside on a stretcher as she continues her recovery. Overwhelmed with emotion, she expressed her gratitude to Kenyans, saying:
“I greet you all Kenyans in the name of Jesus Christ. I want to thank you for all the kind deeds that you have been doing for me. I told you that you are my only brothers and sisters and the uncles to my kids. May God continue blessing you.”
A Call to Action
Captioning the emotional video, Eric expressed his appreciation for the continued support and urged people to help complete the project. He said:
“Let the weak say I am strong, let the poor say I am rich, it’s what the LORD has done. Hey guys, Team Sisi kwa Sisi, may God appear to each one of you, may you never lack. Our mum and her kids finally have a place to call home. Send her whatever you can on her number 0713 529 943 (Name: Millicent Maina) so she can finish the apartments. God bless.”
Final Thoughts
Eric Omondi’s journey with Mama Simon is a testament to the power of community and compassion. It highlights how collective efforts can bring about meaningful change and provide hope to those in need. As the project moves forward, the continued support from Kenyans remains crucial in ensuring that Mama Simon and her family can enjoy a brighter future.
