APC Drives Nigeria Backwards — Sen Ogbeha

ADC’s Vision for Kogi and Nigeria’s Future

Senator Tunde Ogbeha, the Zonal National Vice-Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for North Central, has criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) for undermining Nigeria’s progress, labeling the ruling party as grossly incompetent. He expressed confidence that the ADC would unseat the APC in Kogi State and across the country during the 2027 general elections.

During the unveiling of the ADC in Kogi East over the weekend at Anyigba in Dekina Local Government Area, Senator Ogbeha emphasized the strength of the party, highlighting the impressive turnout as a sign of its readiness to offer a better future for Kogi and Nigeria.

“With what I have seen here today, it gives me great pleasure that ADC will no doubt secure the future of Kogi East and, by extension, the future of Kogi as a state,” he said. “Kogi East has the number, and we are happy that our party, ADC, has your support. Therefore, we will not have any reason not to change the narrative of the state and that of the country.”

He pointed out that in the last two years, issues such as hunger, poverty, and insecurity have plagued the country, and it is time to shift from poverty to prosperity. According to Ogbeha, the only party capable of bringing prosperity to the nation is the ADC.

“Our party does not require a third party from any part of the world to come and tell us how to secure our country. ADC will secure the country in the best way possible. We feel your pains, and we know your desires, and our party will provide your desires for you,” he stated.

Ogbeha urged members and supporters to remain committed to the ADC, assuring them that the party would win the 2027 elections “even without money” both in Kogi State and nationally. He emphasized that the next general elections would be more than just a contest between parties; it would be a choice between the APC and the people of Nigeria.

“The election will be between APC and the people of Nigeria, and victory will certainly be ours. If we do not indulge in anti-party activities, there is no reason why we can not dislodge APC in Kogi state and Nigeria at large,” he added.

Unity and Sacrifice for the ADC’s Success

The senator reminded party members that the challenges ahead required unity and sacrifice. While the ADC may lack resources, he emphasized that it had the people, and “the people’s wish shall prevail in 2027.”

Ogbeha also encouraged youths and women within the ADC to mobilize and organize for change, stating that their involvement was key to shaping their future and that of their children.

Earlier, Simon Achuba, the ADC leader in Kogi East and former Deputy Governor, explained that the people of the district joined the coalition to correct the failures of governance in Kogi State and the country. He highlighted that ADC was a party focused on internal democracy and prioritizing the welfare, well-being, justice, and unity of the people in Kogi State.

“Governance in Kogi state has been misplaced for long. Basic education, rural health, among other basic infrastructure no longer exist in rural communities. Local government councils that suppose to address the needs of communities are no longer functioning, that is why ADC has come to effect positive change,” he stated.

Commitment to Change and Leadership

Mr. Kinsley Temitope Ogah, the Kogi State Chairman of ADC, assured members that the party would produce Nigeria’s next president and called for unity among members in the state. Alhaji Musa Ahmadu, the ADC leader in Kogi West and former Secretary to the State Government, urged members to work together to make Kogi and Nigeria great again.

“We should not have doubt about this coalition. This is how APC took governance of the nation from PDP. If we are determined, this coalition will be possible and it will come as a surprise to Nigerians,” he stated.

In his goodwill message, Mr. David Itopa, the Deputy National Welfare Secretary of ADC, who represented the people of Kogi Central, said the turnout reflected the readiness of Kogi East to take charge of the state’s leadership. He added that ADC was “the party of the youth and women” and called on them to work hard for victory in 2027.

“APC has become grossly incompetent and has put the country’s development in reverse gear. The people are no longer safe; our children’s education is in jeopardy. This can’t continue,” he maintained.
