Ikorodu Local Government Chairman Celebrates 100 Days in Office with Empowerment Initiative
Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Prince Adedayo Ladega, recently marked the 100th day of his tenure in office. The milestone was celebrated with a special event held on Tuesday, 4th November 2025, where he launched the Ladega Mega Empowerment Programme.
The event brought together various community members, including artisans, traders, women, and youths, who were provided with essential business tools and vocational equipment to support their trades and enterprises. The initiative aimed to boost local economic activities and provide practical assistance to those engaged in small-scale businesses.
A Range of Tools for Economic Growth
The empowerment programme distributed a wide array of items to participants, including sewing machines, hairdryers, grinding machines, welding machines, mini tractors, catering equipment, freezers, generators, barbing and vulcanizing equipment, and other work tools. These resources were intended to help individuals enhance their productivity and improve their livelihoods.
The event attracted a massive turnout from all wards under Ikorodu Local Government, highlighting the strong community engagement and support for the chairman’s initiatives. The distribution of tools and equipment was not only a gesture of goodwill but also a step towards fostering sustainable development within the local economy.
Leadership Under the SEED Agenda
In a statement released by Akeem Mustapha, Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, it was noted that since assuming office on 28th July 2025, Hon. Ladega has led with purpose under his administration’s SEED Agenda. The agenda focuses on four key areas: Security, Education, Enhanced Healthcare, and Development.
Ladega emphasized the significance of the SEED Agenda, stating, “Our SEED Agenda is not just a policy—it is a pact with the people. We are building a government that listens, acts, and delivers for every resident of Ikorodu.”
This approach reflects a commitment to addressing the needs of the community through targeted policies and actionable strategies. The emphasis on security ensures a safer environment for residents, while education and healthcare improvements aim to enhance the quality of life for all.
Community Impact and Future Plans
The Ladega Mega Empowerment Programme serves as a testament to the chairman’s dedication to uplifting the local population. By providing tangible resources and support, the initiative encourages entrepreneurship and fosters a sense of empowerment among the community members.
Looking ahead, the administration plans to continue implementing similar programmes that focus on skill development, access to markets, and financial support for small businesses. These efforts are expected to contribute significantly to the overall growth and development of Ikorodu.
As the 100-day mark comes to an end, the focus remains on sustaining the momentum and ensuring that the promises made during the SEED Agenda translate into real, measurable outcomes for the residents of Ikorodu.
