Celebrating Excellence in Impact Investing
The eighth Annual Convening on Impact Investing (ACII), organized by the Impact Investors Foundation (IIF), concluded with a memorable night of inspiration and recognition at the prestigious Dinner and Awards ceremony. This event, held at the Civic Center in Lagos, celebrated the outstanding contributors to Nigeria’s impact economy. It honored impactful businesses, pioneering investors, and dedicated non-profit organizations that have shown that profit and purpose can coexist and thrive.
The selection process for the winners was based on how well the organizations had integrated social or environmental criteria into their business strategies. As part of the screening process, nominees were required to submit detailed documentation that underwent thorough review by experienced judges. These professionals evaluated the organizations’ impact strategies as well as their quantitative and qualitative social impact data.
Following this verification, 13 nominees were shortlisted for the final review. The final winners were then selected by the judges based on an evaluation that measured several key factors: intentionality, financial returns, impact, sustainability, innovation, and scalability.
The awards are more than just a celebration; they serve as a vital mechanism for highlighting measurable social and environmental value and encouraging all stakeholders to adopt impact-aligned strategies for inclusive growth. The awards and dinner marked the capstone of the two-day convening on Impact Investing, drawing attention to those actively building Nigeria’s impact economy.
