Chief Khamis Tunde Badmus Reaffirms Support for MUSWEN Initiatives
The Asiwaju Musulumi of Yorubaland, Chief Khamis Tunde Badmus, has once again demonstrated his unwavering support for the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) and its ongoing empowerment programs. This commitment was reaffirmed during a recent meeting in Osogbo, where leaders of MUSWEN visited to update him on the organization’s upcoming annual General Assembly.
The event took place at the Bola Babalakin Hall in Gbongan, Osun State, and is scheduled to occur on Sunday, 16th November 2025. The visiting delegation included prominent figures such as Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, the MUSWEN President, along with key leaders like Prof. Muslih ‘Tayo Yahya, Executive Secretary of MUSWEN; Alhaji Murisiku Abidemi Siyanbade, Chairman of the MUSWEN General Assembly Planning Committee; and others.
Also present were heads of various sub-committees within MUSWEN and members of the Osun State Muslim Community. During the meeting, Alhaji Oladejo expressed gratitude for Chief Badmus’s consistent support and highlighted his vital role in all MUSWEN activities.
He then invited Alhaji Siyanbade to provide more details about the upcoming General Assembly. Alhaji Siyanbade thanked Chief Badmus for his steadfastness and dedication to Islam and MUSWEN. He explained that this year’s event will feature notable guests, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, South West governors, and other distinguished personalities from across the country.
The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, will be the Special Guest of Honour, while the governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Audu Sule, is set to deliver the keynote lecture. Additionally, MUSWEN plans to launch a N2 billion empowerment fund aimed at supporting the Muslim Ummah through various initiatives, such as building a state-of-the-art healthcare facility and providing educational support for indigent students.
In his response, Chief Badmus expressed appreciation for MUSWEN’s efforts and pledged to attend the General Assembly. He also announced a cash donation to support the program.
