The budget outlines key fiscal priorities and aims to chart the economic direction for the coming year. It includes an estimated total expenditure of Rs. 4,434 billion, with the Ministry of Finance receiving the largest share at Rs. 634 billion. This allocation underscores the government’s focus on managing public finances effectively while addressing broader economic challenges.
In addition to the Ministry of Finance, several other critical sectors have been allocated substantial funds. The Ministry of Health and Mass Media has been allocated Rs. 554 billion, reflecting the government’s commitment to improving healthcare services and communication infrastructure. The Ministry of Defence received Rs. 455 billion, highlighting the importance of national security and defense readiness. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education has been allocated Rs. 301 billion, emphasizing the need to invest in education and human capital development.

His involvement in the process highlights the significance of this budget in shaping the nation’s trajectory.
Following today’s presentation, the second reading debate on the Budget will take place from November 8 to 14.
