Reconstruction of an Ancient Hindu Temple Begins in Sri Lanka

Unfortunately, the ancient kovil suffered severe damage when a banyan tree fell on it during a period of extreme weather. This event led to the complete destruction of the temple, prompting urgent efforts to restore it to its former glory.
In response to the devastation, the Southern Province Governor Bandula Harischandra allocated Rs. 2 million through the Provincial Council allocation for the reconstruction of the temple. This financial support reflects the commitment of local authorities to preserve the cultural heritage of the region and honor the spiritual needs of the community.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by several prominent figures, including the Deputy Chief Judicial Sanghanayake of Hinidum Pattu, the Deputy Parivenadhipathi and Chief Incumbent of the Pahala Keembiya Purana Raja Maha Viharaya, Ven. Also present were Baddegama Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Lalith Senanayake, Vice Chairman Saman Si Liyanage, and other invitees who played a role in the planning and execution of the reconstruction project.
