Rising Star Aryan Khalsa Eyes Glory at IDSL Championship

Teenage darts sensation Aryan Khalsa is preparing to make his mark on the global stage as he gears up for the International Darts School League (IDSL) Championship, scheduled for November 30 in Portsmouth, UK. This prestigious event serves as the culmination of a series of qualifying tournaments held across multiple countries, offering emerging players a unique opportunity to showcase their talents and progress from local school circuits to international competition.

At just 14 years old, Aryan is already being hailed as one of Kenya’s most promising darts prospects. His journey into the world of competitive darts has been marked by consistent improvement, and he believes that recent tournament experiences have significantly sharpened his skills for the challenges ahead.

“My confidence has gone up quite a bit because now I know what I’m capable of, especially at that high level,” Aryan shared. “Competing in top tournaments has prepared me well for the IDSL.”

A Strong Performance in Budapest

Aryan recently made a name for himself at the WDF World Masters in Budapest on November 2, where he reached the last 16 before facing Belgium’s Oden Ollevier in a closely contested match that ended with a 4–1 defeat. Despite the loss, Aryan described the experience as invaluable.

“My experience at the WDF was amazing. The level of play in the juniors is very high and competitive,” he said. “I’ve learned to handle pressure because the IDSL comes with a lot of it—it’s a different ball game altogether.”

Before his appearance in Budapest, Aryan participated in the Hungarian Masters Youth Tournament from October 25 to 26. There, he defeated home favorite Daniel Csoka with a score of 4–2 and England’s Arthur Allston with a narrow 4–3 victory. However, he fell in the quarterfinals to Dutch star Milan Brinkman with a 4–1 loss.

“I enjoyed the competition a lot because it gave me exposure to a big tournament of that calibre,” Aryan reflected.

Balancing Education and Training

Despite his growing success in the darts world, Aryan continues to balance his education with his training schedule. He explained how he manages his time:

“I usually get home, finish my schoolwork, and then practice for about one to two hours.”

His dedication and commitment are supported by his parents, who have played a crucial role in his development. Aryan expressed his gratitude for their unwavering support.

“Having my parents support me through all this means a lot. They help me prepare mentally for big events like the WDF.”

A Promising Future

As Aryan prepares for the IDSL Championship, he remains focused on the goal of achieving top results. His journey so far has been defined by resilience, determination, and a passion for the sport that continues to drive him forward.

With each tournament, he gains more experience and confidence, setting the stage for what could be a remarkable career in darts. As he steps onto the international stage in Portsmouth, the world will be watching to see if Aryan can live up to the expectations placed upon him.
