The ceremony took place on Monday at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, and brought together a diverse group of government officials, business leaders, policymakers, and development stakeholders.

The award was presented to recognize public officers who have shown exceptional commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy through transformative leadership, good governance, and impactful community development projects. Key Initiatives and Projects

Oyegbola-Sodipo’s leadership has led to several notable initiatives that have positively impacted the community. These include:

  • A comprehensive health insurance scheme benefiting hundreds of commercial motorcyclists, elderly women, and widows.
  • The “Light Up Abeokuta North” project, which has provided solar-powered streetlights to over 50 communities across 15 wards.
  • The renovation of St. Paul Primary School, Ilewo Orile Oke Ogun.

Other interventions include:

  • The provision of furniture for 11 primary schools.
  • Allocation of plots of land to outstanding teachers.
  • Digitisation of the council’s revenue system.
  • The establishment of the OGOO Skills Acquisition and Enterprise Development Centre.

Additionally, the council has embarked on the refurbishment of its Hiace bus and grader, as well as the provision of potable water and public toilets in several communities across Owu, Gbagura, Oke Ona, and Oke Ogun.
