Regina Daniels’ Brother Faces Criminal Charges

Legal Proceedings Against Samuel Ojeogwu

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has taken legal action against Samuel Ojeogwu, the brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels. He has been charged before a court in Abuja with several offenses, including criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, and theft.

SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed this development in a statement released on Friday. She mentioned that the charges were a result of a petition submitted to the FCT Metro Area Command on October 28, 2025, which involved Ojeogwu and three other individuals.

Adeh stated, “On 28th October 2025, the FCT Metro Area Command received a petition against one Mr Samuel Ojeogwu and three others, alleging criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying.”

Ojeogwu was reportedly uncooperative with the police, as he did not respond to multiple invitations for questioning. Eventually, he was arrested in Lagos based on an arrest warrant issued by a competent court and was transported to Abuja for further investigation.

“Upon receipt of the petition, several invitations were extended to Mr Samuel Ojeogwu by the Metro Area Command for questioning, which were not honoured. Mr Ojeogwu was arrested in Lagos on the authority of a duly issued arrest warrant from a competent court and subsequently conveyed to Abuja for further investigation,” Adeh explained.

Following the conclusion of the investigations, Ojeogwu was arraigned before a competent court in Abuja on November 6, 2025. He was charged with various offenses, including criminal conspiracy, criminal trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, and theft.

“He has been remanded by the court pending the fulfilment of his bail conditions,” Adeh added.

The FCT Police Command emphasized its commitment to maintaining professionalism and upholding the rule of law. Adeh reaffirmed, “The FCT Police Command remains committed to professional policing, due process, and the rule of law.”

Family Tensions and Public Outcry

This legal development has coincided with heightened family tensions involving Regina Daniels. Recently, she was seen breaking down in a viral video, expressing her emotional pain over her brother’s detention. In the clip, she wept uncontrollably while saying, “I will go back,” highlighting the deep impact of the situation on her.

Her emotional outburst came after weeks of public reports regarding marital difficulties with her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko. Regina had previously accused him of domestic violence on social media. However, Nwoko denied these allegations, attributing her behavior to alleged drug and alcohol abuse. He claimed that Regina’s “current battle with substance abuse” had strained their marriage and urged her to seek rehabilitation.

Despite these challenges, Regina found moments of hope amid the turmoil. She celebrated the reconciliation of her estranged parents, who had been separated for years. Their reunion occurred during a period of personal and family crisis, particularly following her brother’s arrest.
