The 18th Edition of the Unity Club Intwararumuri Forum
The 18th edition of the Unity Club Intwararumuri annual forum is set to take place on November 8 at the Intare Conference Arena. This year’s event will focus on the Ndi Umunyarwanda philosophy, which serves as a fundamental element of Rwanda’s unity and national identity. The theme of the forum, “Ndi Umunyarwanda: Igitekerezo Ngenga cy’Ukubaho Kwacu,” translates loosely to “I am Rwandan: The Guiding Principle of Our Existence.” The forum will be held under the high patronage of First Lady Jeannette Kagame, who is also the Chairperson of Unity Club Intwararumuri.
Organized in collaboration with the Ministry of National Unity and Civic Engagement (MINUBUMWE), this year’s forum aims to foster constructive dialogue and reinforce the spirit of national unity among Rwandans. The Unity Club was established in February 1996 and brings together current and former government leaders and their spouses to promote unity and peace, which are essential for Rwanda’s sustainable development.
According to the organizers, this year’s discussion marks the seventh time that the Ndi Umunyarwanda concept has been emphasized as a national philosophy. It encourages citizens of all ages to view it not just as a slogan but as a way of life that reflects Rwandan values, mindset, and social behavior.
Key Highlights of the Forum
During the forum, MINUBUMWE will present the National Unity Barometer 2025, an important tool used to track progress in strengthening unity and reconciliation across the country. According to the barometer, the status of reconciliation among Rwandans stood at 94.7 per cent in 2020.
The event will be preceded on November 7 by a General Assembly and retreat for Unity Club members. During this session, participants will assess achievements in promoting unity and resilience and welcome 20 new members into the organization.
