Overview of the 2025 Esports College League
The ‘2025 Esports College League’ is currently in the midst of its regional finals following the national finals that concluded on the 2nd. This phase has seen several regions competing, with the Honam and Yeongnam competitions taking place in September. The next set of matches will occur in the Chungcheong region, as well as in metropolitan and Gangwon areas on the 8th and 9th respectively.
The national main competition began in September and lasted for four weeks until the 2nd. The results from the national finals revealed that four schools—Osan University, International University, Shingu University, and Gyeongsang National University—alongside Gyeongsang National University’s FC Online team—qualified directly for the national finals. These teams have demonstrated exceptional performance in the ‘League of Legends’ category.
In addition to these direct qualifiers, teams that won their regional finals also earned a spot in the national finals. In the Honam region, Jeonnam National University of Science (League of Legends) and Honam University (FC Online) emerged victorious in the preliminary rounds. Meanwhile, in the Yeongnam region, Busan National University (League of Legends) and Yeongsan National University (FC Online) secured their places in the final rounds.
The national finals are scheduled to take place at the Gwangju Sports Stadium in Gwangju Metropolitan City over two days, starting on the 22nd. During this time, all participating universities—including those who qualified directly and those who won through regional competitions—will compete against each other.
