Paul Chukwuma, the governorship candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), has publicly praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Nigeria Police Force for their performance during the Anambra State governorship election. His comments highlight a positive outlook on the conduct of the electoral process.

Chukwuma cast his vote on Saturday at the Umuleri community in the Anambra East Local Government Area around 12:40 p.m. The poll was closely monitored across the state, with many observers noting the smooth operation of the voting process.

Before casting his ballot at Ward 14, Umuleri II, Polling Unit 004, Chukwuma spoke to PUNCH Online. He commended the timely start of the election and the prompt arrival of election materials. He described the overall process as smooth and orderly, emphasizing that the presence of security personnel helped maintain a peaceful environment at polling units.

In addition to praising INEC, Chukwuma expressed satisfaction with the conduct of security agencies. He noted that the police maintained a visible and professional presence throughout the state, contributing to a secure and stable environment.

“I must commend the hierarchy of the police — everywhere, to a large extent, we experienced a hitch-free exercise from the point of view of the security agencies,” he said.
