Review of Civic Issues and Development Projects in District West

On Thursday, Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi made a visit to District West to assess various civic issues and to conduct a meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s office. The primary focus of the meeting was on the development projects currently underway in the district, which include roads, drainage systems, water supply infrastructure, schools, health centers, and hospitals.

During the meeting, the performance of local taxes, advertising tax, and property tax collection systems were also reviewed. This comprehensive approach aimed to ensure that all financial mechanisms supporting the district’s development are functioning efficiently and effectively.

The meeting brought together several key officials, including Deputy Commissioner Zulfiqar Memon, Additional Deputy Commissioners, Director Development Commissioner Karachi Office Naseem Ahmad Butto, Assistant Commissioners, Chairmen of Towns, and other senior officials. Their collective input was crucial in identifying areas for improvement and setting future goals for the district.

Key Decisions and Actions Taken

One of the major decisions made during the meeting was that all Deputy Commissioners would hold monthly meetings with Town administrations. These meetings will focus on reviewing development projects, tax collection systems, and overall performance. The goal is to ensure that work progresses swiftly, projects are completed on time, and all legal requirements are met.

Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi directed all Deputy Commissioners to review ongoing development projects within their respective districts. They are expected to hold meetings with development and municipal authorities, visit project sites, and inspect the progress of work being carried out. Additionally, they must ensure that all legal requirements are fulfilled during the construction phase of these projects and submit detailed monthly progress reports.

Project Performance and Reporting

The meeting also included a review of the performance of ongoing projects in the district. Assistant Commissioners provided briefings to the Commissioner regarding their visits to these projects. Senior officials from the concerned development and municipal authorities shared detailed information about each project, highlighting challenges faced and steps taken to address them.

This level of engagement and transparency is essential for maintaining accountability and ensuring that public resources are used effectively. It also allows for timely interventions when issues arise, preventing delays and ensuring that projects meet the required standards.

Ongoing Commitment to Development

The discussions held during the meeting underscored the commitment of the administration to the continuous development of District West. By maintaining regular communication between different levels of government and ensuring that all stakeholders are involved in the decision-making process, the district can achieve sustainable growth and improved quality of life for its residents.
