The Daramola Family Denies Allegations from ATCO Homes
The Daramola family, residents of Bolorunpelu Onigbedu Village in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, has strongly refuted allegations made by the Lagos-based real estate company, ATCO Homes. According to a statement released to PM News on Saturday, the family described the claims as inaccurate and misleading.
The company had reportedly accused the Daramola family of altering the coordinates of land sold to it by executing a Deed of Rectification without their consent. In response, Pa Ismail Olayiwola Daramola, the head of the family, denied these allegations and emphasized that the report misrepresented the facts of the transaction.
He explained that ATCO Homes acquired only a portion of the family’s land through a representative identified as the company’s surveyor. “I never had any direct dealings with the said representative, and no payment was made directly to me,” he stated.
Pa Daramola clarified that while the company legally purchased a small portion of land from the family’s late head—estimated at two acres—the boundaries of that land have remained clearly defined. He added that the family has expressed concerns over attempts to extend the boundaries beyond what was originally agreed upon and has since made formal representations to relevant authorities for proper clarification.
Formal Representations and Legal Actions
The family confirmed that petitions and letters were submitted to the Lagos State Land Bureau, the Office of the Attorney General, and the Registrar of Titles to ensure transparency in the handling of all documentation related to the disputed parcels of land. They also mentioned that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is currently looking into the matter following a petition submitted by ATCO Homes.
In a protest letter dated October 30, 2025, and addressed to the EFCC through their lawyers at Dominance Legal Chambers, the family maintained that the disagreement was a civil land issue and not a criminal one. “We urge the EFCC to ensure due diligence and fairness in the investigation so that no innocent party is unfairly treated,” the letter read.
The family also appealed to the Lagos State Ministry of Lands and the Office of the Attorney General to intervene and ensure that all land records and survey documents are properly verified.
Commitment to Transparency and Law
Reaffirming their commitment to cooperate with any lawful investigation, the Daramola family stressed that ATCO Homes’ legitimately acquired property remains intact and undisturbed. “We believe that transparency and adherence to the rule of law will ultimately resolve this matter,” the statement added.
The family noted that the case is already before a competent court and expressed confidence that justice will prevail in due course.
