A New Chapter for FUOYE Under Professor Ogunwole
The Alumni Association of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has expressed its heartfelt congratulations to Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, who has been appointed as the university’s 5th substantive Vice Chancellor. The association described his appointment as a pivotal moment that holds the promise of renewed academic energy, improved administrative efficiency, and greater global outreach for the institution.
In a statement released recently in Oye-Ekiti, the National President of the association, Temitope Arogundade, highlighted that the professor’s appointment is widely seen as a reflection of his academic excellence, innovative leadership style, and clear vision for the development of higher education in Nigeria.
The statement also noted that the news of Professor Ogunwole’s appointment has been met with optimism and collective hope from students, staff, alumni, development partners, and other stakeholders of the university.
“The Alumni Association of this great University joyfully celebrates the selection of Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole as the 5th Substantive Vice-Chancellor of FUOYE. His outstanding academic journey, his administrative maturity, and his commitment to value-driven leadership resonate deeply with our aspirations for a university that stands tall in Nigeria and on the global stage,” the statement reads in part.
The association emphasized that with the increasing number of students, expanding research activities, and growing national influence of the university, the role of the vice-chancellor at this critical time requires strategic thinking, fostering partnerships, engaging alumni, and strengthening the institution. The association believes that Professor Ogunwole is well-equipped to lead effectively in these areas.
Commitment to Collaboration and Growth
The Alumni Association reaffirmed its willingness to work closely with the new administration in various areas such as mobilizing alumni resources, providing professional mentorship for students, establishing international academic connections, supporting research initiatives, enhancing graduate employability, expanding infrastructure, and building corporate relationships.
“The alumni association of FUOYE remains a strong and growing force with presence in every sector of the economy at home and abroad. We stand ready to work hand-in-hand with the vice chancellor-elect to broaden the university’s opportunities, raise its impact, and strengthen pathways that connect our students to the world. We believe that the future of FUOYE is a shared responsibility,” the statement added.
Call for Unity and Collective Effort
The statement urged all stakeholders, including staff, students, alumni, government partners, and community leaders, to unite behind the new vice chancellor in order to build an era of shared development and progressive achievement.
This move marks a significant step forward for FUOYE, as it seeks to leverage the strengths of its alumni network and academic community to drive innovation, excellence, and growth. With Professor Ogunwole at the helm, the university is poised to embrace new challenges and opportunities that will shape its future.
