Oburu Oginga Reveals Secret Crush on Millie Odhiambo Amid Mourning

A Touching Tribute and Light Moments at the Funeral

Oburu Oginga, a prominent figure in Kenyan politics, attended the funeral of Rose Otieno, the widow of Otieno Kajwang, who passed away on October 30 after a long battle with illness. The event took place at her hometown, where Oburu was among the dignitaries from the ODM Party.

Rose, a respected lecturer at Kenyatta University, left behind a legacy that touched many lives. Her son, David Brian Ajwang, delivered a heartfelt tribute during the memorial service. He shared a personal story about his struggles with alcoholism following the death of his father, the late senator. According to him, he fell into depression and turned to substance abuse, but it was through the support of God and his mother that he found his way back.

At the burial, Oburu brought a moment of laughter to the grieving crowd by sharing an amusing anecdote about his relationship with Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo. His confession highlighted their interactions during political campaigns and how she played a crucial role in organizing events.

A Story of Campaigns and Connections

Oburu revealed how he first met Millie Gesa Gesa through Otieno Kajwang. During the campaigns for Raila Odinga, Kajwang and Oburu had a plan to mobilize people at the grassroots level while Raila focused on higher-level outreach. When they visited Busia, they found that Millie had already arranged everything—accommodations, meals, and speaking platforms. Kajwang and Oburu were impressed by her efficiency and dedication.

In his words:”I knew Millie Gesa Gesa through Kajwang. That time, we were doing campaigns for Raila. Kajwang and I agreed that Raila will be doing campaigns above, but we were to talk to people at the grassroots level. We were to mobilise them so they come out in huge numbers. When we went to Busia, we found that she had arranged everything, where people would sleep, what they would eat and the platforms they would speak on. Kajwang and I were just doing politics. Millie had done everything else. I loved Millie because of that. She was so beautiful that sometimes she would confuse me. We did campaigns for Jakom with her.”

The Question of Wives

Oburu also shared some light-hearted moments when he spoke about his two wives. During the state funeral of his brother, Raila, he introduced both women and explained why he chose to have a second wife. According to him, his first wife was getting older and weaker, so he brought in another woman to assist her.

While introducing the two women, Oburu highlighted their professions and the impact they had in their respective fields, emphasizing that they were more than just his wives. His candid approach and sense of humor continued to resonate with the public, showcasing his ability to connect with people on multiple levels.
