Finalists of the Under 19 Division 3 Tier ‘A’ Cricket Tournament

On November 8, St. Xavier’s College Marawila will face Debarawewa National School in the final match of the Under 19 Division 3 Tier ‘A’ inter schools limited overs cricket tournament. The event, organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association and supported by Sri Lanka Cricket, is being held at Bandaranayake Central College Veyangoda on Saturday.

The tournament featured a competitive first round with 64 teams divided into 16 groups. Each group played on a league basis, and the top two teams from each group advanced to the next stage. St. Xavier’s College Marawila and Debarawewa National School emerged as group champions, securing their spots in the pre-quarter finals.

In the pre-quarter finals, both teams showcased strong performances. St. Xavier’s College Marawila defeated President’s College Maharagama, while Debarawewa National School overcame St. Mary’s College Hambantota. Their victories highlighted their determination and skill, setting the stage for an exciting semi-final clash.

The semi-finals saw both teams continue their winning streaks. St. Xavier’s College Marawila triumphed against St. John’s College Nugegoda, and Debarawewa National School secured a victory over Maliyadeva Model School Kurunegala. These wins demonstrated their resilience and ability to perform under pressure.
