Unilorin Graduate Among Global Top 2% Scientists

Mr. Stephen Emmanuel, a highly accomplished alumnus of the University of Ilorin, has been acknowledged as one of the top 2% most influential scientists globally in the recent ranking released by Stanford University and Elsevier. This prestigious recognition highlights his significant contributions to the scientific community and underscores his impact on research and innovation.

In response to this honor, Mr. Emmanuel expressed deep gratitude to God, his wife (Ademidun Emmanuel), parents, friends, family, mentors, NELIREF, and the University of Ilorin for providing the academic foundation that shaped his career. “This global recognition serves as motivation to continue contributing to science for sustainable development,” he shared. His words reflect not only personal achievement but also a commitment to using science for the betterment of society.

Following the announcement, Mr. Emmanuel received numerous messages of congratulations from prominent figures in academia. Among them were the immediate past Dean of the Faculty of Physical Sciences at the University of Ilorin, Professor Abdullahi Alafara Baba; the Pioneer Editor-in-Chief of the U6+ Journal and former Head of Department (HOD) of Industrial Chemistry, Professor Hussein Kehinde Okoro; and the HOD of Mechanical Engineering at Nile University of Nigeria, Dr. Adekunle Adeleke. Mr. Emmanuel’s academic journey began at the University of Ilorin, where he earned both his BSc. and MSc. degrees with distinction in Industrial Chemistry.
