The Role of Godly Servants in Guiding People Toward Righteousness

The messages, sermons, and teachings delivered by the anointing men of God—whether they are pastors, prophets, or other spiritual leaders—are intended to guide individuals away from unrighteous living and toward a life of righteousness. These servants of God have a critical responsibility to ensure that people are corrected, reminded of the truth, and encouraged to live according to divine principles. The Bible emphasizes this role in James 5:19–20, which states, “My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back, remember this: whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins.” This passage underscores the importance of accountability and the power of redemption through spiritual guidance.

Jesus came to redeem sinners and restore them to a right relationship with God. He also called His followers to do the same, urging them not to be biased or partial in their approach. In light of this, it is essential to reflect on the role of men in society. The world recognizes the significance of men as fathers and leaders, which is why there is a day set aside to honor them. This recognition highlights the fact that the leadership and governance of the world rest in the hands of men. A man is often likened to the captain of a ship; if the ship sinks, the captain bears the responsibility for the mishap. To prevent such disasters, the captain must exercise authority effectively.

A man who lacks self-respect or confidence cannot command others with authority. Similarly, a man who is always doubting or searching for answers everywhere will not possess the strength to lead. Authority comes from within, and it is rooted in self-assurance and clarity of purpose.

The Impact of Persistent Thinking on Success

Persistent thinking can have a negative impact on both mental and physical health. It can lead to hypertension and a scattered mind. Those who desire wealth often think less and focus more on taking action to achieve their goals. A rich person’s mindset is different from that of a poor person. The rich person believes in the possibility of success and acts accordingly, while the poor person is often filled with doubt and uncertainty.

This principle applies to all areas of life. Anyone who wants to succeed must consistently think about success. Consider the example of an undergraduate who organized seminars and workshops for people in both public and private sectors using materials from his lecturers. If he had doubted the success of these programs, he would not have achieved the results he did. Similarly, a person who constantly questions their decisions and actions may lack authority in their own home. They might hesitate to make requests or feel uncertain about their partner’s response.

However, this does not mean that men should avoid thinking altogether. Rather, they should avoid being consumed by doubt. A man who thinks too much may struggle to assert himself, while a man who is confident in his thoughts can act with authority. This confidence allows him to make decisions and expect compliance from others.

Upholding Dignity and Respect

Another factor that affects a man’s authority is his ability to uphold his dignity and respect. A man should know when to reject something that is unworthy or harmful. For instance, if a man is offered food that comes with insult, he should refuse it. The Bible warns against accepting gifts from stingy or dishonest people, as seen in Proverbs 23:6–8: “Do not eat the food of the stingy man, do not crave his delicacies, for he is kind of man who is always thinking about the cost. Eat and drink, he says to you but his heart is not with you…”

This passage teaches that a man should not accept anything that compromises his dignity. If a woman prepares food in a disrespectful manner, a man should not eat it. He should express his concerns clearly and calmly, without engaging in arguments. By doing so, he demonstrates authority and sets a standard for how he expects to be treated.

When a wife brings food with a frown or a dismissive attitude, a man should not eat it. Instead, he should remain calm and insist on not consuming the meal. This behavior sends a clear message to his wife that he values respect and expects it from her. Over time, this can lead to a more harmonious relationship, where she learns to behave with proper respect and wisdom.

The Importance of Submission and Humility

A man of true authority does not need to belittle his wife or disregard her contributions. Even if she is wealthy or noble, he should command her with respect and grace. Many women have fallen into pride due to their wealth, forgetting that their husbands were the ones who helped them achieve their success. This is a reminder that humility is essential in any relationship.

Wives who are blessed with wealth or status should be careful not to let pride take over. They should remember that their husbands played a role in their success and should remain submissive and respectful. This does not mean they should lose their identity, but rather that they should recognize the value of their partnership and work together in harmony.
