Seven individuals who were kidnapped in Ewohimi, Esan South-East Local Government Area of Edo State, have been successfully rescued. The victims were on their way to a farm owned by 65-year-old William Omozokia when they were taken.

The Edo Police Command confirmed that their operatives conducted a hot pursuit and managed to rescue the abducted individuals. The operation involved collaboration between the police, the Nigerian Army, and local vigilante groups.

Emem Ikoedem, the deputy spokesman for the Edo Police Command, shared details of the rescue mission in a statement. The incident took place on Saturday, 1st November 2025. Enoch Omozokpia from Ikeken Ewohimi reported that his father, William Omozokpia, was kidnapped by armed men suspected to be kidnappers along with six others while he was going to his farm in the Ikeken Forest.

The police acted quickly on the report, and the Divisional Police Officer, Ewohimi, led a team of operatives in a coordinated operation. The team stormed the forest and engaged in an intense bush combing effort that forced the abductors to abandon their captives and flee.

All seven victims were rescued without any injuries and have since been reunited with their families. The rescued individuals are:
