Iqbal Day Celebrations and National Games Preparation
To commemorate Iqbal Day on November 9, a special Qur’an Khwani (recitation ceremony) will take place today, Sunday, following the Asr prayers at the International Abdul Nasir Basketball Court in Arambagh. The event aims to seek divine blessings for the peaceful and successful organization of the upcoming National Games.
The announcement was made by renowned sports organizer Muhammad Saleem Khumaisani, who presided over a meeting that brought together key stakeholders in the sports community. The event is being organized under the banner of the Sindh Basketball Association (SBBA), in collaboration with several other sports associations, including the Sindh Cycling, Shooting Ball, Wrestling, Malakhra, and Firdous Ittehad Sports Associations.
During the meeting, attended by prominent figures such as Ghulam Muhammad Khan, Kaleem Ahmed Awan, Ghulam Abbas Jamal Advocate, Ameen Pasha, International Zafar Iqbal, and chief organizer Haji M Ashraf Yahya, it was decided to make every effort to ensure the successful and exemplary conduct of the National Games.
Ghulam Muhammad Khan, former president of the KBBA, SBBA patron, and senior vice president of the Sindh Wrestling Association (SWA), expressed confidence that under the leadership of Minister for Sports Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Mahar, the Games would be organized in an outstanding manner. He also assured full cooperation to organizing secretary Ahmed Ali Rajput in all preparations.
