Author from Zaka to Launch Second Book

A Message of Resilience and Renewal

In a world where setbacks can often feel like dead ends, Desmond Chikamhi, a development practitioner and founder of World Life Changers, offers a powerful message: failure is not final, and every ending is an opportunity to begin again. His journey as a humanist and author has been shaped by personal challenges and a deep commitment to inspiring others.

Chikamhi recently launched his first book,Yes You Can, which resonated with readers across Zimbabwe and beyond. Now, he is set to unveil his second publication,Try Again, at the Cresta Oasis Hotel on December 5th from 5:30pm to 8pm. The event will feature a distinguished guest list, including government ministers, parliamentarians, academics, business leaders, creatives, and book lovers, as well as family and friends from across Zimbabwe.

Embracing the Power of Resilience

Speaking about his work, Chikamhi emphasized that he sees himself as a voice of resilience. He believes in using his literary works to inspire positivity among Zimbabweans and people worldwide. Born in Zaka, he grew up under difficult circumstances but has dedicated his life to empowering others, helping them discover their potential and overcome adversity.

“I believe your present circumstances must never determine your future,” he said. “I want every citizen of this great nation and all over the world to embrace the message of determination and resilience against all odds. We may all be in the gutter, but the future belongs to those who choose to look at the stars and pursue their dreams against all odds.”

A Journey of Personal Growth and Academic Achievement

Recently honored with a Doctorate in Development Studies by the Cambridge Digital Digital University, an American University in India, Chikamhi’s work goes beyond academic achievement. His mission is deeply personal and profoundly practical, aiming to equip people with the mindset and tools needed to transform their lives, regardless of the obstacles they face.

“FromYes You CantoTry Againand others coming after them, the goal is to promote a culture of facing challenges head on,” he explained.Yes You Canserved as a rallying cry for readers to believe in their abilities and pursue their dreams with confidence. The book established his work as a voice of encouragement in the personal development space.

Try Again, set for release on December 5, 2025, is a powerful sequel that builds upon the foundation of his first work. WhileYes You Canfocused on discovering one’s potential,Try Againdelves into what happens when individuals stumble, fall, or fail along the way.

Overcoming Setbacks with Determination

Chikamhi emphasized that in life, we all face challenges and stumble, but we must never allow temporary setbacks to become permanent snares that hamper our progress. “I believe success is not about never falling; it’s about rising every time you do,” he said.Try Againis a continuation of his people development narrative, focusing on two essential qualities that separate those who achieve their goals from those who give up: resilience and determination.

“In these pages, readers will discover that adversity is not an enemy but a teacher. Through compelling stories, practical wisdom, and actionable strategies, I am guiding readers through the difficult moments when giving up seems easier than pressing forward. I am also showing that setbacks are not signs of weakness but opportunities for growth and that every ‘no’ brings you closer to your ‘yes’,” he added.

A Book for Everyone Who Has Ever Felt Like Quitting

The publication addresses all of life’s predicaments—professional challenges, personal struggles, or the weight of unfulfilled dreams. Chikamhi, who will speak at the African Summit on Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ASENTI 2025) from November 13 to 15 in Rwanda, called on all progressive Zimbabweans to be part of the movement.

Try Againoffers the encouragement and tools you need to keep moving forward. It’s a book for anyone who has ever felt like quitting, reminding them that their story isn’t over—it’s just beginning a new chapter,” he said.

He invited all progressive Zimbabweans to attend the book launch, not only for the festivities but to tap into the positive energy that will characterize the event. The selection of invited guests and panelists is deliberately designed to inspire hope and excellence among attendees, launching a community of doers who defy odds and strive for self-determination.
