Punjab Chief Minister to Participate in COP30 Conference

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is set to attend the COP30 Conference on Environment in Brazil, scheduled from November 10 to 21. During this global event, she will present the Punjab government’s vision titled “Waste to Value, Vision to Global Action,” which has been developed over the past 19 months. This initiative aims to transform waste into valuable resources and promote sustainable practices on a global scale.

Accompanied by Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafique, and Minister for Education Rana Sikandar Hayat, the CM will emphasize Punjab’s environmental reforms. These include measures to eliminate smog, improve air quality, and make all sectors eco-friendly for the first time in the province’s history. The focus will be on creating a greener and more sustainable future for Punjab.

Environmental Reforms and Green Initiatives

The CM will outline several key initiatives that are part of Punjab’s commitment to environmental sustainability. One of these is the transition to electric vehicle-based transport. This includes a plan to introduce electric buses in 42 cities across the province. Additionally, the Clean and Green Punjab initiatives will be highlighted as part of the broader strategy to reduce pollution and promote green living.

Another significant aspect of the environmental agenda is the T30 vision for an environmentally friendly Punjab. This includes proposals to run 120,000 electric motorcycles and rickshaws, introduce 1,100 electric taxis, and launch an advanced digital rail system. These initiatives aim to revolutionize transportation in Punjab while significantly reducing carbon emissions.

Recognition of Bilal Tarar’s Election

In a separate development, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif extended her congratulations to Bilal Farooq Tarar on his unopposed election from NA-66. In her message, the CM expressed her best wishes and noted that his election reflects the people’s trust in the leadership of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). This recognition underscores the support for the party’s policies and vision for the province.

Launch of the Chief Minister IT Internship Programme

On Saturday, the Chief Minister IT Internship Programme was officially launched in Punjab. According to official sources, this program offers a stipend of Rs50,000 during a five-month internship. The initiative aims to provide IT and computer science graduates with a unique opportunity to gain training in skills and technology aligned with market demands.

Interns will have the chance to work in renowned software houses, where they can benefit from the expertise of professionals and industry experts. This program is designed to enhance the employability of IT graduates and equip them with the necessary skills to succeed in the competitive tech industry.
