A Life Remembered: The Passing of George Clifford Owusu

George Clifford Owusu, a well-known entertainment journalist with the Daily Guide Network, was laid to rest on Saturday, November 8, 2025. His final journey took place after a solemn burial service held at the forecourt of Apenkwa Presbyterian Church in Accra. The event brought together family, friends, colleagues, and members of the creative industry, all of whom came together to pay their respects to a man who was remembered for his warmth, humility, and dedication to others.

The ceremony began with a laying in state and pre-burial service at the church, followed by interment at the Achimota Cemetery. A thanksgiving service was held the following day, Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Awakeners International Chapel, Ablekuma Pentecost Junction. During this service, mourners joined the family to celebrate his life and legacy, reflecting on the impact he had on those around him.

Born in May 1972, Clifford Owusu passed away in September 2025, leaving behind his widow, Albertina Bene Owusu, and their children: Esther Afriyie Owusu, George Clifford Owusu jnr., William Nana Osei Owusu, Margaret Naa Owusu, and Betty Nana Yaa Yeboah Owusu. His passing marked the end of a life filled with purpose and compassion.

Honoring a Legacy

Among the attendees at the burial were several prominent figures, including Abeiku Santana, Deputy Director of the Ghana Tourism Authority; celebrated musician Tic; and Daddy Bosco Ahuma, Special Projects Coordinator at the Musician’s Union Of Ghana (MUSIGA). Representatives from GHAMRO (Ghana Music Rights Organisation) and staff from the Daily Guide Network were also present. Old students of Swedru Secondary School, where Owusu once studied, attended to honor their former classmate.

Family members, colleagues, and friends from across the country gathered to commemorate his memory and contributions. His presence was deeply felt, as many shared stories of his kindness, dedication, and the indelible mark he left on their lives.
