KATHMANDU, Nov. 7 – Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has resumed its regular operations after being closed for four hours due to a malfunction in its airfield lighting system. The issue, which started around 5:30 p.m., led to a complete halt of both takeoffs and landings, according to the airport director and spokesperson, Rinji Sherpa.
“The cause of the lighting failure is currently under investigation. We will determine the exact reason after conducting a detailed study,” Sherpa stated during a press briefing.
