According to Akinbiyi, one of the occupants of the vehicle reported that the driver had fallen asleep while driving, which caused the collision. The impact of the crash resulted in the driver’s death, and his body was taken away by his family before the arrival of emergency services.

Three people were involved in this accident, with two injured and one fatality. The other occupants of the vehicle were rescued by their families, and TRACE operatives along with FRSC managed the resulting traffic situation.

Response and Call for Safer Driving

In response to these tragic events, Akinbiyi conveyed the condolences of the Acting TRACE Corps Commander, Elias Omonayajo, to the families of the deceased. He also urged drivers to adopt safe driving practices and remain vigilant on the roads to prevent such incidents in the future.

These accidents serve as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations. As the community mourns the loss of lives, there is a growing call for increased awareness and measures to reduce road fatalities in the region.
