A Journey Through Two Continents
Moroccan artist Aymane Bufrakech, currently based in Spain, is set to unveil his latest collection from November 13 to December 12, 2025, at the Espace Rivages of the Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans Living Abroad. This exhibition, titled«Between Two Continents», will open with an event where the artist himself will be present. Born in 2003 in Tangier, Bufrakech explores themes such as «the intersection of reality and imagination, as well as the blend of tradition and modernity», as noted by the organizers.
Early Influences and Artistic Beginnings
From a young age, Aymane was deeply involved in the world of painting. His father, the painter Abdelaziz Bufrakech, played a crucial role in guiding him toward discovering his passion. Before completing his baccalaureate in applied arts in Tangier and studying Art History at the University of Malaga in Spain, he began showcasing his work in 2017. His exhibitions have taken place both in his hometown and internationally, reflecting his growing recognition.
Over the years, Aymane has developed a unique artistic vision that is both sensitive and distinctive. His inspiration comes from the diverse cities he has visited, including Tangier, Rabat, Marrakech, Meknes, Madrid, Malaga, Paris, Berlin, and Prague. These experiences have shaped his creative process and expanded his perspective on art.
Expanding Artistic Horizons
Aymane emphasizes that his geographical mobility has significantly broadened his artistic horizons. He explains, «Living between Morocco and Spain has allowed me to experience two distinct lights, sensitivities, and artistic cultures. This journey has transformed my understanding of color and time». His ability to draw from multiple cultural influences has helped him create a body of work that resonates across different audiences.
Through his participation in various projects in Morocco and Spain, Aymane has strengthened his intercultural dialogue and increased his international presence. His pieces are now part of private collections around the world, including in the United States, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Canada, Australia, Belgium, England, and Italy.
The Role of Youth and Cultural Identity
One of the aspects Aymane values most is the sensitivity and naivety of youth, who «dare to explore freely», fostering creative diversity. His work often focuses on memory and emotion, maintaining an unwavering attachment to his homeland. This connection to his roots continues to be a profound source of inspiration for his artistic expression.
A Unique Perspective
Aymane Bufrakech’s art reflects a deep understanding of the complexities of identity, culture, and personal history. His work invites viewers to reflect on the interplay between different worlds and the ways in which they shape individual perspectives. As he continues to evolve as an artist, his exhibitions serve as a bridge between past and present, tradition and innovation.
With each new project, Aymane demonstrates a commitment to exploring the rich tapestry of human experience through his art. His upcoming exhibition at the Espace Rivages promises to be a significant moment in his career, offering a glimpse into the creative mind of a young artist who is making his mark on the global art scene.
