NYSC Extends Batch C Registration Deadline

NYSC Extends Registration for 2025 Batch ‘C’ Mobilisation

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has extended the online registration for the 2025 Batch ‘C’ mobilisation exercise by 48 hours. This decision was made in response to technical issues that hindered many prospective corps members from completing their registration.

Caroline Embu, the NYSC Director of Information and Public Relations, announced this extension on Friday in a statement shared with Saturday PUNCH. The initial deadline for registration was set for November 9, but due to server overloads, many applicants faced difficulties with profile creation, biometric uploads, and payment processing.

Online registration for the 2025 Batch C was opened on Tuesday, but many prospective corps members encountered problems accessing the portal from the start. A prospective corps member from Osun State, Yusuf Balogun, shared his frustration with the ongoing technical challenges. He mentioned that the issue is widespread, with complaints coming from all over the country.

Balogun explained, “Here in Osun State, some of us have visited different cyber cafés, but we could not access the site. I’m done with my capturing, but I have not been able to upload my bio-data since Tuesday after the website stopped working. As of now, the website has completely shut down, and this is really frustrating.”

He also mentioned that some individuals stayed up all night hoping the website would be accessible, but there was no improvement. Another prospective corps member, Bayo Alabi, accused the NYSC of foul play, suggesting that the portal outage may have been intentional. He claimed, “We have been getting reports attributing the technical glitches to alleged manipulation by NYSC officials. People are saying that the portal was intentionally shut down after the NYSC had selected their preferred candidates.”

In response to these concerns, Embu acknowledged the challenges faced by applicants and confirmed that steps were being taken to resolve the issues. She emphasized that the extension was meant to provide affected applicants with enough time to complete their registration.

“The Management of the National Youth Service Corps has noted the difficulties being faced by some prospective corps members in the ongoing registration for the 2025 Batch ‘C’ mobilisation. The longer-than-usual time it is taking some PCMs to complete the registration is as a result of network issues,” the statement read.

Embu further explained that the NYSC is working to fix the problem and ensure a smooth registration experience for all applicants. She added, “In view of this regrettable development, management has extended the registration period by 48 hours till midnight of Tuesday, 11 November 2025, to enable our enthusiastic PCMs to conclude their registration.”

The NYSC has urged applicants to remain patient and make use of the extended window, assuring them that normal service will be restored as soon as the technical issues are resolved.
