Recognition for Paradise Welfare Foundation’s Contributions

Paradise Welfare Foundation, a non-profit public interest foundation under the Paradise Group, recently received the Prime Minister’s Commendation at the 14th Korea Sharing Citizens’ Awards Ceremony held on the 6th. This prestigious award is given in recognition of outstanding contributions in various categories such as human sharing, material sharing, life sharing, and hope mentoring. The foundation was honored in the material sharing category for its significant efforts in advancing disability welfare projects.

The foundation shared its appreciation for the recognition, stating, “We have received high praise for continuously advancing disability welfare projects and investing approximately 32 billion Korean won in corporate resources to pioneer areas that are difficult for the government or private sector to address.” This investment highlights the foundation’s commitment to creating meaningful change in the lives of individuals with disabilities.

One of the foundation’s most notable initiatives is the ‘I-Sori Festival.’ This project aims to break down barriers between children with and without disabilities by allowing them to jointly enjoy cultural and artistic experiences, play activities, and performances. Since its inception in 2000, the festival has become an annual event, fostering inclusivity and unity among participants. The 15th edition of the I-Sori Festival took place in April at Paradise City in Incheon, drawing participation from approximately 2,000 children with and without disabilities along with their families.

Chairperson Choi Yoon-jung of Paradise Welfare Foundation emphasized the importance of building a society where everyone can live together without discrimination. She stated, “For a prosperous future of our society, a culture of living together without discrimination must take root, and this is an important task for all of us to solve.” Her words reflect the foundation’s ongoing commitment to promoting social inclusion and addressing the needs of marginalized groups.

Looking ahead, the foundation plans to continue fulfilling its corporate social responsibility by pioneering the welfare ecosystem. Choi highlighted the need for boundless imagination and relentless challenge in achieving this goal. “Paradise Welfare Foundation will ensure that not only children with disabilities but all marginalized groups can lead better lives and enjoy cultural opportunities,” she added.
