Afghanistan chose to bat first and set a formidable target of 112 runs in their six overs. The team’s batting lineup delivered an impressive performance, with several players contributing significantly to the total.

Karim Janat was the standout performer for Afghanistan, smashing a blistering 35 off just 10 balls. His innings included two fours and four sixes, showcasing his aggressive approach. Captain Gulbadin Naib also played a crucial role, scoring 22 off 10 balls. Sediqullah Pacha added 13 from five deliveries, while Farmanullah Safi remained unbeaten on 30 from nine balls. He hit two fours and three sixes, providing a solid finish to the innings.

Nepal’s Struggles in the Chase

Nepal faced a challenging task as they chased a target of 113 runs. Their batting lineup found it difficult to maintain the required run rate throughout the innings. Lokesh Bam scored 10 before being dismissed by Farmanullah, while captain Sundeep Jora showed promise with a quick 53 off 14 balls. Unfortunately, Jora had to retire hurt due to the tournament rules.

Rashid Khan then contributed 11 runs before being dismissed lbw by Ijaz Ahmad Ahmadzai. Despite the efforts of Mohammad Aadil Alam and Rupesh Singh, who remained unbeaten on 11 and 1 respectively, Nepal could not reach the target. They ended their innings at 95 for 2 in six overs.

Key Performances and Tactical Insights

Afghanistan’s dominance was evident both with the bat and the ball. Farmanullah Safi played a crucial all-round role, contributing significantly with both his batting and bowling. His performance proved to be the deciding factor in the match.

The early wickets taken by Afghanistan’s bowlers restricted Nepal’s scoring opportunities, while their aggressive batting set a strong tone for the team. The combination of tight bowling and powerful batting ensured that Afghanistan maintained control of the game throughout.

This victory highlights Afghanistan’s growing strength in the shortest format of the game, while Nepal will need to regroup and improve their performance in future matches. The match served as a testament to the competitive nature of international cricket, with both teams showcasing their skills on the field.
