2026 Grammy Nominations Revealed: Key Details Unveiled

2026 Grammy Award Nominations Set to Unveil a Competitive Field

The anticipation for the 2026 Grammy Award nominations is building up, and with it comes a fierce competition that promises to be one of the most exciting in recent years. The nominees will be revealed during a video livestream on the Grammy website and the Recording Academy’s YouTube channel on Friday at 8 a.m. Pacific Time and 11 a.m. Eastern Time.

A star-studded lineup of hosts has been confirmed to announce the nominations, including Gayle King, Doechii, Karol G, Lizzo, Mumford & Sons, Nicole Scherzinger, Sabrina Carpenter, Sam Smith, Angélique Kidjo, Brandi Carlile, CeCe Winans, David Foster, Jon Batiste, Little Big Town, Masaki Koike, and Chappell Roan, the winner of best new artist last year.

Only recordings that were commercially released in the U.S. between August 31, 2024, and August 30, 2025, are eligible for consideration. This means that Taylor Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl” will not be included in the nominations. However, Sabrina Carpenter’s “Man’s Best Friend” is expected to be among the nominees, as it was released just under the deadline on August 29.

The artwork for “Man’s Best Friend” has sparked considerable discussion. It features the pop star kneeling on the ground in a dog-like pose while an unseen person pulls her by the hair, creating a striking visual that has generated a lot of attention.

There are still many unknowns surrounding the nomination announcements. One notable absence is the lack of new full-length albums from some of the most prominent artists, such as Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and Adele, within the eligibility window. However, several other heavyweights have managed to release new works, including Kendrick Lamar’s “GNX,” Lady Gaga’s “Mayhem,” and Bad Bunny’s “Debí Tirar Más Fotos.” If any of these albums win the top prize, it would mark their first Grammy victory.

Another intriguing change involves the best country album category. Following Beyoncé’s historic wins at the 2025 Grammys for best album and best country album for “Cowboy Carter,” the category has been split into two: best traditional country album and best contemporary country album. The original category has now been renamed to reflect this change.

The 2026 Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled to air live on February 1 on CBS and Paramount+ from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
